Teens - Don’t idle away your time
Build
your work experience!
You’re a teen (13 to 17 years old) and you want a job,
but you have no experience? And how can you get experience if you are
unable to find employment? Turn in an application, pass an oral interview,
and the Parks and Recreation Department will hire you as a Teen Volunteer. You’ll be provided with challenging and fun
opportunities, given on-the-job
experience, learn new skills, meet new friends, help others in the
community, and gain in self-confidence. Best of all, upon completion
of a successful volunteer experience, teens may receive letters of
recommendation, Certificates of Appreciation, media publicity about their
volunteer activities, and special recognition (for those working 50 hours
or more). Letters of recommendation may help a teen in the future in acquiring
scholarships and/or employment.
