Supporting our mission to "enhance human development" and "strengthen community safety
through the provision of leisure programs".

Are you a working parent?  Do you like to keep your children involved in healthy leisure activities?  This is the perfect after school program for your children. Recreation leaders will be on site to provide arts and crafts, music, movies, games, sports and special events.  The program observes the Tulare City Schools schedule for holidays and minimum days. BEST CLUB REGISTRATIONS FOR THE 2012/2013 SCHOOL YEAR

WILL BE ACCEPTED BEGINNING 7/1/12


HOURS OF BEST CLUB OPERATION:
Monday - Friday
After school - 5:25 p.m.
K - 6th grade


MEMBERSHIP: 

$200 per school year 2012/2013
or $100 bi-annually (at registration and in January)

(FEES MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

**Department will no longer accept
payment arrangements.

You must register  your child and make complete
payment of registration fee at the Recreation and Parks
Department office before your child can
attend the BEST Club.

TRANSPORTATION              
The Tulare City School District provides transportation to the BEST sites provided that there are routes in that particular area. The following schools will have bus transportation to BEST Centers:

MEITZENHEIMER BEST : Lincoln and Wilson

The BEST Centers are Drop-In recreational centers. Participants may arrive and depart at their own will.  Should you wish your child to remain until a parent/ guardian arranges for pick-up, you must convey that message to your child. Children must be picked up by 5:25 p.m.

 

SUMMER NEIGHBORHOOD 
RECREATION PROGRAM

at the

Tulare Woman’s Clubhouse
88 W. Tulare Ave.

Drop-in recreation activities, include arts and crafts, sports, games, nature, drama and special events.  Participants are free to arrive and depart at their own will any time during operating hours. Should you wish your child to remain until a parent/guardian arranges for pick-up, you must convey that message to your child and the staff.  For more information, call 684-4315.

Dates:  Monday – Friday, June 11 – July 13, 2012
Time:    1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Ages:    K-5th (Completion of Kindergarten required)

 

 

Go to “registration” and you may print out a copy of the BEST Club form mail with payment or bring to Recreation and Parks Department to register.

As of May 1, 2009, Department is no longer able to accept credit card payments by telephone or fax. All credit card transactions must be verified by providing identification to staff at time of transaction.

 

 


WINTER HOLIDAY CAMP

Need a place for your child(ren) to be safe while having fun during the Winter Break? The Tulare Recreation and Parks Department will be offering a three week Winter Holiday Camp for children in the kindergarten through the 6th grade. They will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities such as group sports, games, crafts, skits and movie sessions. THEY MUST BRING A SACK LUNCH. Snacks may be purchased at the camp or they may bring their own snacks. This camp will be limited to 50 children. For more information, call 684-4315.

                           ALL DAY SUMMER CAMP

Need
a place for your child(ren) to be safe while having fun during the Summer Break? The Tulare Recreation and Parks Department will be offering a weekly Summer Camp Monday through Friday from June 11 - July 27. Children who have completed kindergarten through the 5th grades are welcome to participate in weekly activities. They will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities such as group sports, games, crafts, skits and movie sessions.
THEY MUST BRING A SACK LUNCH. Snacks/drinks may be purchased at the camp or they may bring their own. This camp will be limited to the first 75 children. For more information, call 684-4315.

POLICIES

·        Activities and classes are limited in size. Registration will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

·        Classes that do not draw the minimum enrollment by the registration deadline will be canceled. Please make every effort to register on time so a class will not be canceled unnecessarily.

·        Children must be required age by the first day of class.

·        No one but registered participants will be allowed in class, unless otherwise indicated by staff.

·        The liability release on the registration form must be signed in compliance with City policy.

REFUNDS
It is department policy to not allow refunds once registration is accepted by the Department, unless the class is canceled by the Department.

WAITING LISTS
Once registration for an activity has reached its limit, a waiting list will be established.
